Welcome!

Please read on to find everything there is to know about the preparation, the shoot day and what to expect after the shoot!

Most people if not all are a little nervous in front of a camera, and thats ok! It can feel a bit un natural for some more than others. Now that could be down to any number of thing including any bad past experiences. But please don't worry yourself and read on as I take you through everything you need to know. Heres how its going to go... When you arrive we will have a sit down, have a cup of tea and chat for a bit so that we can get to know each other. We'll lay out your outfit choices and discuss the looks we are looking to capture from the shoot, we'll have a discussion and then we'll jump right into the shoot. Pop on a Spotify playlist, do some relaxation exercise, get the camera set and have a good time!

When you are at ease and confident we will capture you in your best light. I am also more than happy to assist with make up and hair if you need it, I will have a mirror and powder on standby! I promise you’ll relax, be confident on camera and have a really enjoyable experience!

A little styling advice...

Although headshots are focused around your face and the expression your showing, clothes make a massive difference to the various casting looks we can get out of the shoot, so if you want a good casting range and images that will really sell you, please read on....

Wear clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable! Feel free to wear tracksuit bottoms if that’s what you like as we will only be shooting your top half in the session.

Please bring more clothes than you think is necessary, I'd rather you turn up with a suitcase full of outfits then two of your black T shirts..

Avoid...

· Big logos/branding/glitter/acid bright colours and large patterns/large lines/stripes.

However....

 · Smaller patterns/stripes can also work so don't feel limited to block colours. If there are items that you feel define you and make you feel most confident, maybe a top or jacket that your mate says you look great in, bring them along and we'll take a look on camera! Theres no harm to bring more than enough clothes to the shoot.

Ladies if you have long hair don’t just bring strappy tops as your hair will cover the straps and you’ll look topless which neither of us want for your headshot!

Don't forget to pack these...

·Black and white Tops

· Colours!! Think earth tones, blues, greens, browns, reds, olive, chocolate colours, as well as cooler colours such as light greys, blues and so on.

· Bright colours also work for more commercial shots but acid colours can look too garish and detract from the subject!

Last but not least...

· If you have a spot breakout before the session please don’t worry I can retouch it in seconds and make it disappear.

Finally

· You are welcome to shave half way through to completely change your look just make sure to bring a razor and shaving foam to do that.

· Avoid wearing make up ( I have powder and anti shine which I can apply during the shoot but the simpler more natural you look the better)

· Ideally come with a light basic make up - or if you don’t ever wear any and wouldn’t wear it to a casting then just come like that.

If you do wear it, keep it natural – looks far better as too much make up will look too heavy/possibly dated. Remember we can always stop and add some more makeup and change your hair slightly, even if it’s just a simple change as it will alter the whole look of the photo.

· If you wear foundation, please make sure that it matches your skin exactly so we avoid a mish-mash of skin tones in the final shots!

· If you want to curl/straighten your hair etc. bring tongs/hairdryer what ever you may need, and don't be embarrassed to bring a suitcase if you have too, I've had many a people do so!
